MESSAGE FROM ILSE

To my tax clients:

Another year has suddenly passed and it is now 2004. Hopefully you all had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends.

I have sent you the Organizer to help you get ready for your tax appointment. Make certain to have your required papers, such as W-2s, 1099s for interest and dividends, as well as other income such as sale of stock, schedule C (self employment} information ready. The appointment can be made starting on February 1, 2004.

Additional items you may require to have ready for your appointment:

  1. If you have a new dependent (child or adult) make certain to h?.\'G a social security number available for them. If none is available, apply for one through the social security administration.

  2. If you are self-employed, look into a retirement plan to fit your needs by checking with a financial advisor or me. The plan will also be a tax write off. Check into some educational plans for yourself or children and/or grandchildren. Check with your financial advisor or me about the type of plans that are available.

The main change this year is that the State of California is now requiring most tax practitioners to file electronically (E-File) for their clients. As a result, I will E-file for both State and Federal for each client. There will be a small increase in fees to accommodate additional time for E-filing your tax returns. If you do not wish to E-file, there will be a form which you must sign to opt out. The payment of taxes can be done by check or credit card. Any refund can be done by direct bank deposit or check, as in the past.

Important changes:

  1. There will be an extra fee if additional bookkeeping (such as receipts in a shoebox) is required to get ready for the tax interview.

  2. If you need additional time (15 minutes or more) to have me explain what is needed for the interview, either in person or by telephone, there will be an additional consulting fee outside the income tax charge.

  3. If you find that you need me to come to your residence or place of business for the tax interview instead of my office, there will be an additional fee for time of transportation to and from my office. It would be prudent to make the appointment for my office.

However, for those of you that are further away. mailing your information is still an option as usual. Telephone calls will always be part of the package.

I will look forward to working with you again this year. Please give me a call at your convenience for your appointment.

Annual Privacy Notice:
This letter will serve as my annual notice to you that I never share any of your information with anyone else unless you specifically ask me to do so. Any documents containing information on you are shredded if not kept or returned to you.
